Fullers ESB — The Spread Eagle, Croydon

Posted by: Brad In: Uncategorized

If you’re having Fullers have ESB. Really nice, malty ale. Really easy to drink which is unfortunate as it is pretty strong. Nice pint. Nice pub. [4/5].

Titan IPA — The Rake, Borough Market

Posted by: Brad In: Uncategorized

Probably the most expensive pint I’ve ever drunk. 6 quid a pint. 7.1%. Proof that you get what you pay for. Amazing pint. [5/5].

Prices in the Rake make drinking scary. Maybe I’ll switch to wine or Whisky.

Next to try is this offering from the Titanic Brewery. A 4.8% mild which is
very smooth and very errr mild. Not bad at all. Creamy and subtle. Well worth a go. Couldn't drink too many but it's lovely all the same [3/5].

Red Squirrel London Porter — The Six Templars, Hertford

I'm back in Hertford tonight and have just found out that the Six Templars had a Red Squirrel Ale Festival on and that I missed it. Never mind. This London Porter is amazing. It's 5.0% and very creamy and subtly chocolatey. It really does hit the spot. I'd drink this always if I could. It is in cracking nick too. They certainly know how to keep their ales in this place. [4/5].

Tring Brewery, Colley’s Dog — The Old Barge, Hertford

This ruby ale is quite ordinary. Nothing special to say other than I love this pub but not this pint. [1/5].

Lymestone Brewery Stone The Crows — The Six Templars, Hertford

This ale is pretty odd. It’s sharp but very dark. It’s quite bitter and the Guinness looking offering just confused me a bit. I don’t really know if I like or not. More towards the not.

Morland Old Crafty Hen

Posted by: Brad In: Uncategorized

This is far superior to Speckled Hen and I love it. It’s a really good bottle which is best at a little under room temperature. 6.5% with a lovely raisin malty finish. Brewed locally in Bury St Edmunds. Love it. [5/5]
