St Peter’s Organic Best Bitter

St. Peter's Organic Ale

I’ve reviewed a few organic ales and compared them to St Peter’s Organic Best Bitter. Well now we get to talk about it properly.

First the bottle details. St Peter’s Organic Best Bitter is 4.1%. It is made with organically grown Charlot malted barley – which makes up the mash for this ale. To give the ale its distinctive hoppy flavour they add organically grown Hallertau hops. The result – they say – is a unique, superb, full-bodied organic best bitter with a refreshing after-taste.

Also, the bottle tells you that this ale has been made the same way for 700 years – at St Peter’s Brewery – located in a medieval hall in a remote and beautiful corner of Suffolk

Well everything they say is true. This ale is fantastic. It has a great taste and a very distinct after-taste. Very refreshing too!. This is definitely in my top 5 ales. Sadly for me I didn’t get to drink the whole bottle as Mrs Tony drank most of it in a clever distraction manoeuvre. She liked it too!

The Head of Trading at Ocado told me that this is their top selling bottle in the category specialist beers, ales and lagers – so it can’t be bad!
