Old Peculiar – is it a peculiar bottle?

Theakston's Old Peculiar

Old Peculiar had me anxious It was my last bottle before going to bed and the name was putting me off.

Off came the cap – poured it in the glass -and boy was it a dark beer -not Guinness dark – but not far off. Was this a stout I was about to drink?

This was a really nice ale. More of your traditional ale. And not peculiar at all. It went down a treat.

Much like Broadside, I couldn’t drink it all night for fear of getting a sore head and a furry tongue – but I could drink a few I think.

Picking favourites is hard now – and although this wouldn’t make my top 5 – I can certainly recommend you trying it.
