Caledonian Golden Promise – The Original Organic Beer

Calendonian Golden Promise

Apparently Caledonian were the first Brewery to create an organic ale. They did it in the early 1990’s. The bottled ale has won awards for ‘Best Beverage’ by the Vegetarian Society and is apparently one of very few beers that vegans will drink.

Well even at 5% it doesn’t taste of much. It is a bit dull to be honest. I kind of expected a lot of taste from an organic ale but this one was found wanting. Put it up against ‘St Peter’s Organic Best Bitter’ and you will never drink it again.

It took me about 3 minutes to drink this.. it was just like having a cordial with too much water – I was most disappointed.

Caledonian Brewery also make Deuchar’s and 80/-. I wasn’t overly impressed with them either.

Moving on…
